Pre-inspection Checklist

  1. Star Detection DogFor the most effective canine scent detection sweep, all areas should be clear of obstructions and clutter providing open access to beds, furniture, and perimeter walls as much as possible. All floors MUST be vacuumed and swept prior to our arrival.
  2. All pets must be removed from areas to be inspected at least one hour prior to canine scent detection sweep. If this is not possible then pets may be kept outside or in a room not scheduled for inspection.
  3. All pets’ food, water, toys, bedding, etc. must be removed from all areas to be inspected.
  4. NO smoking, cooking, deodorizers, air fresheners, or candles for at least 2 hours prior to the canine scent detection sweep.
  5. Keep all windows and outside doors closed at least one hour prior to the canine scent detection sweep.
  6. To minimize any drafts, all air conditioners, air purifying devices, heaters, and ceiling fans must be turned OFF at least one hour prior to canine scent detection sweep.
  7. Please do not use ANY household cleaners or other chemicals for at least 12 hours prior to the canine scent detection sweep.
  8. Bed Bug DescriptionDistractions such as noises and human contact with the canine should be minimized to insure the most efficient scent detection sweep possible.
  9. For the safety of our canines we do not schedule any canine scent detection sweeps within 30 days of any pesticide pest control applications.
  10. The canine handler will first access the areas to be inspected. The canine handler may refuse to inspect any area if the above checklist is not followed or the canine team’s safety is at risk.
